Dr. Yau Wei Chuen is an Associate Professor of Information and Communication Technology at Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM). He joined XMUM as a pioneer staff member since 2016. Yau received his BS and MS degrees from National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan, and his PhD degree from Multimedia University, Malaysia. He is a Chartered Engineer (CEng), a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and a Professional Technologist (Cyber Security). He also holds GMOB (GIAC Mobile Device Security Analyst) and GSEC (GIAC Security Essentials) certifications.
Yau’s research interests include cryptography, security protocols, intrusion detection, network security, blockchain, and machine learning. He has published numerous research articles in well-known international journals and conferences in these topics. Yau currently is a guest editor of the ETRI Journal special issue on Cyber Security and AI. He was the General Co-Chair of Mycrypt 2016. He has been invited to serve in the capacities in program committee member for international conferences and reviewer for various journals. He is a committee member of Working Group on Security Techniques and Mechanisms (under Technical Committee of Information Security, SIRIM). He is also an Evaluation Panel member for MySEAL (National List of Trusted Cryptographic Algorithms). Yau frequently provides research consultancy and training to IT companies. He has also worked as a principal investigator/researcher for various research projects funded by the Malaysian government and industry.
Keynote Title: Smart Contract Security
It is vital to ensure smart contracts running on blockchains are secure and trustworthy. In this talk, I will first talk about security issues of smart contracts. I will then demonstrate automated security testing tools used for analysing vulnerabilities in smart contracts.
